North American Romney Association is an association for registering and promoting your purebred Romney Sheep.
Established in 2009, our association is member driven. Emphasis is on promotion and recognition of the dual traits of the Romney breed of sheep; those traits being the production of high quality lambs for market and high value fleeces.
We also are registering sheep and keeping on file records of registrations, transfers and importation of live sheep, semen or ova of the Romney breed.
Last, but not least, we want to aggressively promote and assist both our active and junior members, breeders and exhibitors in North America and beyond.

A Note From the President….
All good things come to an end and change is inevitable. Unfortunately, we must say farewell to Jean Kamenicky our Secretary/Treasurer and Registrar. Jean retired on March 29, 2013. She now has the time to enjoy her retirement and spend more time with her sheep. Jean has been involved with Romney’s since 1988 when she purchased her first 8 Romney’s from Morris Culver. She was the American Romney Breeders Association (ARBA) Secretary/Treasurer/Registrar for 9 years. She then became part of the formulation of North American Romney Association (NARA) and brought her friendly personality, and hard work ethic to be the Secretary/Treasurer and Registrar for the new association. Jean was the champion of personal service and we will miss her. Her shoes and customer service skills will be hard to fill and replace. I hope you all will take the opportunity to wish her well.
The position Jean held is a very important one for any association. I am stepping down as President and assuming the position and tasks of Secretary/Treasurer and Registrar so the upcoming busy registration season can be fulfilled. Maria Rooney, the current Vice President, is assuming the position of President. The Board will meet to appoint a VP to complete her term.
